For the farmer. The Lincoln Red is a hardy, easy care, low cost input beast. This is a polled breed. The cow is docile with wonderful maternal instincts, easy calving, producing a plentiful supply of milk. If a Lincoln Red bull is used as a terminal sire, the majority of the offspring are polled, saving time and money. Lincoln Reds are good converters of roughage, have good weight gains and can be finished on grass or rapidly.
